Here is a list of former NISA players moving on to other leagues for February. Like last month, there was not much movement, but hopefully, it will pick up once the calendar changes to March.
Bill Hamid (Maryland Bobcats FC)
Former Maryland Bobcats FC goalkeeper Bill Hamid will be moving to South Florida as he has signed a contract with the Miami FC of the USL Championship for the upcoming 2025 season. Hamid was signed by the Bobcats down the stretch towards the end of the 2024 NISA season last year and played in three matches for Maryland. Hamid only conceded one goal during that span and had two clean sheets. Before joining Maryland, Hamid also played for the Virginia Dream FC and NOVA FC last year. He also played in the USL Championship with Memphis 901 FC. Hamid brings experience from playing in MLS with D.C. United, earning eight caps with the U.S. Men’s National Team, and playing abroad at FC Midtjylland in Denmark.
Lamin Jawneh (Georgia FC)
Former Georgia FC forward Lamin Jawneh is heading to Texas, where he will join new USL League One expansion side Texoma FC for its inaugural 2025 season. Jawneh spent one season with Georgia FC last year, making nine appearances, scoring one goal, and adding one assist. He previously played for Phoenix Rising FC, Moca FC in the Dominican Republic, GAS Lalysos 1948 in Greece, and Atlanta United II when the club was in the USL Championship in 2020.
Seth Torman (Los Angeles Force)
Former Los Angeles Force goalkeeper and 2024 NISA Golden Glove winner Seth Torman has joined USL League One side Greenville Triumph for the 2025 season. The club announced the move on Feb. 17. Torman played 18 matches for the Force across all competitions, logged 1,350 minutes in goal, and had six clean sheets. He was part of the squad that won the 2024 NISA Championship last season. Torman was previously with the Birmingham Legion of the USL Championship in 2023. He played college soccer at UAB (University of Alabama – Birmingham), where he posted a 1.81 goals against average and played 31 matches. Torman will compete with fellow goalkeeper Gunther Rankenburg, who established himself as the club’s top goalkeeper last season.
Mouhamadou War (Los Angeles Force)
Former Los Angeles Force forward Mouhamadou War has signed a contract to join USL Championship side Orange County SC for the upcoming 2025 season. The club announced the move on Tuesday. War was with OCSC as an open trialist during the preseason, and ended up making the team. War was previously with the Los Angeles Force, where he made 16 appearances and scored five goals. He was also part of the squad that won the 2024 NISA Championship last season. The 24-year-old played college soccer in Japan, attending Komazawa University, and made 19 appearances. War also played in J League 2 in 2023 with Blaublitz Akita.
Those are the latest transfer moves I’ve been able to track since last month. Hopefully, March will pick up, with more player movement as we approach NISA’s target month of April to kick off its 2025 season. What are your thoughts on the latest player moves? Let me know in the comments section below. Until then, have a good weekend, and I’ll see you next time.
