NISA Announces Peak XI FC to play in 2025 NISA Pro Cup

Yesterday, the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) announced that Peak XI FC will play in the 2025 NISA Pro Cup. Peak XI FC, based in Boulder, CO, will participate in the fall tournament, set to kick off on Monday, October 13. Peak XI FC was formed in 2020 and has had success winning the Mountain Premier League East Division titles in 2022 and 2024. The club’s origins go all the way to the early 2000s, when the original team was built out of a team named “Il Pastaio” with a contingent of players working at the beloved Boulder Italian Restaurant. The club rebranded to the Boulder Rollin’ Greens FC in 2010 and played in the Boulder Soccer League, going on to win the BSL spring and fall seasons in 2013. The club rebranded again in 2014 to FC Boulder and won the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Colorado Conference Championship in 2018. Peak XI FC also participated in the NISA Independent Cup in 2022 and 2023, as well as the NISA Nation National Championship Finals in 2023 and 2024. Additionally, they entered the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Peak XI FC made their debut in The League for Clubs this summer and won the Mountain Premier Conference Championship.

“We’re honored to be invited into the inaugural NISA Pro Cup. For our club, this is more than just competing, it’s about proving that Peak XI FC is a destination for player development,” Peak XI FC Head Coach Eric Schuler said. “Our players-first identity has always been built on giving athletes opportunities to grow, showcase themselves, and take the next step in their careers. The NISA Pro Cup gives us the perfect stage to do that, and we’re proud to represent Colorado in this historic event.”

The club’s top goalscorer from the previous season was Taylor Smyser, with 14 goals across all competitions. In 2025, Jaime Gutierrez is Peak XI FC’s top goalscorer with 15 goals this year heading into the tournament.
