NISA Nation will return for the league’s fifth season of play. Last spring, the league featured three regions: Pacific, Southwest, and Western New York. The Texas Region was inactive as the league focused on returning for 2025 and splitting the region into geographic divisions (North Texas and South Texas). The Coast Region, which debuted during the 2024 fall season, will be back, as will the Southwest Region. If you missed anything, here is your offseason recap to catch you up on NISA Nation.
Offseason Recap
NISA Nation confirmed in January the league would return for another season. The league announced new regions for the Spring 2025 season, including the Arkansas/Tennessee Region, the Michigan Region, and the Colorado Region. NISA Nation announced the league would return to the Texas, Coast, Southwest, and Pacific regions. Still, there are no updates on whether the league would return to Florida or the Western New York regions. However, after reports of the NISA league remaining unsanctioned for the 2025 season after the USSF AGM in February, as Kartik Krishnaiyer of Beyond the 90 first reported, many affiliate leagues began to announce their breakaway from NISA Nation. The first regional league to depart was the American Premier Soccer League (formerly Eastern Premier Soccer League) on March 7, as Michael Battista of Hudson River Blue reported. The APSL was primarily the Northeast region for NISA Nation. Last week, the Metroplex Premier League and Mountain Premier League announced that they were ending their affiliation with NISA Nation. Battista also reported that the Midwest Premier League ended its affiliation with the league. The Mountain Premier League announced a new affiliation with the League For Clubs on Tuesday, while the Metroplex Premier League has been affiliated with TLFC since last December. Earlier this week, NISA Nation announced the departure of Communications Specialist Dennis Pope. The Cascadia Premier League, Michigan Premier League, and Southwest Premier League are the only remaining affiliate leagues for NISA Nation. Despite all the drama off the field, NISA Nation has moved forward and has kicked off its 2025 spring season. The league has confirmed that the Coast and Southwest Regions will play a spring season. Here are the teams listed below:
2025 Spring Season Clubs
Coast Region
- Capo FC (San Juan Capistrano, CA)
- FC Golden State Force (Pomona, CA)
- Inland Empire FC (San Bernardino, CA)
- Lobos FC (West Covina, CA)
- Temecula FC (Temecula, CA)
- Worldwide Problems FC (Long Beach, CA)
Southwest Region
- Be Pro FC (Las Vegas, NV)
- FC Anahuac (Las Vegas, NV)
- Las Vegas United FC (Las Vegas, NV)
- SC Union Maricopa (Gilbert, AZ)
- Sin City FC (North Las Vegas, NV)
- Soccer Academy Nevada (Las Vegas, NV)
- STG Premier Pro (St. George, UT)
The 2024 Coast Region champion and runners-up in the 2024 NISA Nation National Championship Worldwide Problems FC is returning for another season. The 2024 Southwest Region Champions, Las Vegas Legends FC, will not be returning for the spring season. In NISA Nation’s press release earlier this week, there was no mention of the other announced regions regarding clubs and schedules for the Pacific, Michigan, Arkansas/Tennessee, Colorado, and Texas regions. I checked the social media pages for the clubs announced in these regions, and most of them still have NISA or NISA Nation mentions on their bio pages. With the Metroplex Premier League’s departure from the league, the Texas Region is relegated to Houston area clubs as part of their plan was to have cross-over matches this season with the Dallas/Ft. Worth area clubs. I don’t know how or if the Colorado Region will even play this season with the Mountain Premier League’s departure. There have been no recent updates on the status of the Pacific or Arkansas/Tennessee Regions. The Michigan Region is expected to start its season later this month, and Pinnacle FC has already announced tryout dates.
As I mentioned earlier, the 2025 spring season has already started on the West Coast, with week 1 in the books. Here is your recap below:
