NISA Announces DC Hyper to play in 2025 Fall Tournament

On Tuesday, the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) announced its first club to participate in the 2025 NISA Pro Cup Tournament this fall. DC Hyper, based in Washington, D.C. will make its debut this fall. The club was established in 2016, and its vision is to bring the heart and soul of Brazilian soccer to our nation’s capital. DC Hyper’s owner is Wilson Matos, a local entrepreneur, and the club president. He helped establish a non-profit futsal and soccer club when the club began in 2016. Gabriel Ferrari is the Sporting Director, and Sergio Caetano is the Head Coach.

DC Hyper debuted in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) in 2024. DC Hyper also had a team that participated in The Soccer Tournament (TST) last summer. DC Hyper won the DMV North Premier division in the spring season. DC Hyper also won the DMV South Premier division during the fall season and defeated the Virginia Dream FC to win the DMV South Championship. The club qualified for the UPSL National Playoffs in the Round of 32 but fell 1-0 to Bridge Sports Club and saw their inaugural season in the UPSL end. DC Hyper finished its first year in the UPSL with a record of 18W-1D-4L.

DC Hyper has also developed many talented players, including midfielder Stiven Jimenez, who currently plays in Major League Soccer with FC Cincinnati. DC Hyper is currently playing its spring season in the UPSL’s DMV North Premier division and is atop the table. The NISA league mentioned in its press release that they will reveal more participating clubs in the coming days.
